Spicy Dal Kattu (Potato Dal)
Ingredients
- Toor dal (Kandi Pappu) - 1/2 cup
- Potato-2 Medium Size
- Ginger-50 grams
Green chilli-6-7
Turmeric-1 T spoon
Salt -tasty
Onion -1
Tamarind juice-2 Tb

Ghee-2 Tb spns
Mustured seeds-1 T spn
Cumin-1 spn
Redchilli-2
Garlic-2
Onion-1
Curry& Coriander leaves-2 bunches
for Dal Kattu
Method
Step 1
Scrap Potatoes and cut in to 4 Cubes each.
Fry Toor Dal in dry pan & Soak for 10 mints.
Add Toor dal in Cooker and add turmeric& Potato cubes and Cook for 5 whistles.
Step 2
Grind Green chilli and Ginger in to Smooth paste and keep a side.
Open the lid and Separate Potato with the help of Spoon and Mash dal.
To This dal Mash, Add Salt tasty and add Ginger chilli paste and mix well add Some Water and Mash, in the meanwhile Mash Potato in to Crumble and add to Dal and mix Once and keep a side.
Step 3
Take a Pan add 2 Tb spoons Ghee (It Needs More ghee) and Crackle mustard seeds then add Cumin, Onion and fry till Onion saute.
Add Red chili, Garlic and curry coriander leaves and Fry for 1 min.
Step 4
Add Mashed Dal in to Temper and Mix well add Some Water and If required add 2 Tb spoons Tamarind juice and Cook on low flame for 5 mints.
Serve Hot with Rice and Roti.
