Pindi Pulihora with Tamarind – Rava Pulihora Recipe

Ingredients

  • Rice ravva - 250 grams
  • lemon size tamarind ball soaked in water
  • grounds nuts - 2 table spoons
  • Red chilli - 5
  • turmeric powder - 2 t spoons
  • Mustered seeds - 1 t spoon
  • ginger - 1 inch
  • Urad ki dal - 1 t spoon
  • Raw chena dal - 2 table spoons
  • Sliced Green chilli - 6
  • cashew nuts - 10 (optional)
  • curry leaves - 2 bunches
  • Salt tasty
  • Oil - 3 table spoon
  • Hing - pinch
  • Oil - 3 table spoon

Method

Step 1

If Ravva Not available at instant : If not available rice sooji do like this soak rice 3 hours and drained and grind coarse and sieve,remove flour and use the ravva

Step 2

Procedure to make Rava Pulihora: Turn on the stove Place the Non stick Kadai, Add water and 750 ml and Boil until rolling boil (triple amount to sooji), in between add salt and allow to rolling boil, Add oil 1 t spoon

Step 3

Keep the tamarind juice ready by Squeezing the lemon size tamarind to juice, Filter tamarind juice and make sure only juice is there and keep aside

Step 4

check the water stage must be Rolling boil, Add rice sooji and keep on stirring until cook in Medium flame, when water absorbs keep the flame low, Check it was cooked or not, Spread in a wide plate and allow to cool and keep aside cool for 15 minutes, after cooling upma will get separated

Step 5

take another non stick kadai and add oil and Heat, Fry Ground nuts, Add chena dal and urad ki Dal fry for 2 minutes, Crackle mustered seeds, Fry ginger pieces, add red chilli, green chilli slices and Cashew Nuts, fry for 5 minutes on low flame

Step 6

Add curry leaves, turmeric powder, salt and fry for 2 minutes, After 3 minutes add tamarind juice, hing and cook for 10 minutes , take out from the stove and Cool for 10 minutes

Step 7

Take the Upma in a deep bowl and make sure all the rava granules are separated now Add pulihora seasoning in upma and mix well, for mixing use fork will be comfortable

Step 8

thats it your tasty traditional Upma Pulihora, Rava Pulihora is ready to serve
