Karnataka Akki Roti
The specialty of state is akki roti, A spicy bread made from rice flour and server with Mango Pickle. The delicious street food is one of the most popular and common tiffin snack quick to make and tastes so good. The specialty of Food Street in Bangalore is dosa, there is a huge variety on dosa served here, other food items are sambar, rasam and curd rise. These found in every street in South Indian states Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka & Tamil Nadu
- Rice Flour – 1 Cup
- Cumin – ½ T Spoon
- Onions – 1 No (Medium size)
- Green Chillies – 2 Nos
- Grated Raw Coconut – ¼ Cup
- Oil – 2 T Spoons
- Water – for making Dough
- Salt – Tasty
- Cilantro (Coriander Leaves) – 2 Bunches
First finely chop all the vegetables mentioned in the list Take a Bowl add, Rice Flour, Chopped Green chilies, Chopped Onions, cumin, Grated Raw Coconut Mixture, Coriander Leaves, Salt and make smooth dough by adding the water little by little.
Now a make a round dough balls and keep aside Take a non-stick pan don’t keep in the stove or gas stove Grease the oil on the surface and place the dough ball and press on all sides and expand it like a dosa. Now make holes on the dough surface (it was important)
Now turn on the gas and keep the Non Stick pan on Medium flame and sprinkle oil on the surface and cover the akki roti with a large lid.
In between check for the change of brown colour at the edges of the holes and edges of the Akki roti. When it starts the brown colour at the edges immediately flip the Akki Roti and cook for few minutes.
