Chole masala curry

Chole masala curry is a famous and perfect combination curry to poori or Puri and chapatis and some time it may use with white rice also.


  • Kabuli Chena - 1 Cup
  • Tomato Paste - made with 2 tomatoes
  • Onions - 2 Meduium Size
  • Green Chillies - 2 nos
  • Bay Leaf - 1
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 t Spoon
  • Cumin - 1/2 T Spn
  • Seasoning - 1/2 T Spoon
  • Chole masala Powder - 2 T Spoons
  • Red Chilli Powder - 2 T Spoons
  • Turmeric Powder - Pinch
  • Salt - Tasty
  • Oil - 2 Tb Spoons
  • Cilantro - 2 Bunches


Step 1

Take a bowl and add Kabuli Chena and soak for over night . Next day take a cooker and add some water and add the kabuli chena and wait for 3 whistles by adding salt. separate the chena to bowl and keep aside.

Step 2

Turn on the stove and place the kadai and after the heating the kadai pour the oil heat the oil and add the bay leaf, add cumin and seasoning items and crackle. Add Chopped Onions, Green Chillies and fry for 4 minutes, Add Salt and fry for few seconds.

Step 3

Add Ginger garlic Paste fry till it loses the raw smell, then add the tomato paste fry for 5 minutes

Step 4

Add red Chilli Powder , turmeric powder and salt after thorough mixing add the cooked kabuli chena (Chole) mix well and fry for 2 minutes and then add some water for gravy and cook for 7 minutes

Step 5

after cooking 7 minutes add Chole Masala (which is easily available in all indian super markets) and Cilantro and cook for few seconds.

Step 6

Thats it your tasty and delicious chole masala is ready to eat and serve this chole masala with chapathi and puri.
