Butter Chicken – North indian Style

Ingredients

  • Butter - 1/2 Cup
  • Chicken - 500 Grams
  • Turmeric Powder - 1 T Spoon
  • Red Chilli Powder - 2 T Spoons
  • Garam masala - 1 T Spoons
  • Tandoori masala - 1 T Spoon
  • Cumin Powder - 1/2 T Spoon
  • Coriander Powder - 1/2 T Spoon
  • Salt - Tasty
  • Curd (Yogurt) - 4 Tb Spoons
  • Lemon Juice - 2 T Spoons
  • Cumin seeds - 1 T Spoon
  • Onion - 1 No Large (to be Chopped)
  • Ginger - 2" Size (Finely Chop)
  • Garlic - 5 nos (finely Chop)
  • tomatoes - 3 Nos (to be chopped)
  • Bay leafs - 1 No
  • Green Cardamoms - 2 Nos
  • Cloves - 3 Nos
  • Amchur Powder - 1/2 T Spoon
  • cinnamon powder - 1/2 T Spoon
  • Kasuri Methi - 1 T Spoon
  • Coriander Leaves - 2 Bunches

Method

Step 1

------------ Marinating the Chicken ---------- Take a Boneless or with bone chicken and add Turmeric Powder (1/2 T Spoon), Salt, Cumin Powder, Coriander Powder, Tandoori Masala, Yogurt and Lemon Juice mix well then keep it in a refrigerator for 1 minimum of 1 hour (Note more time you marinate chicken pieces will be more smooth)

Step 2

Butter chicken Making Take a Non Stick pan add butter then melt, add cumin seeds then chopped onions, chopped ginger, chopped garlic after frying (Until Transparent) take out and add to a mixie jar then make a paste and keep aside In the same pan add chopped tomato and fry fry until it separated from oil then take out in a mixer jar and make a tomato puree or paste and keep aside

Step 3

in the same pan add, Bay leaves, green cardamoms, cloves then fry for few seconds (1 Minute) then add marinated chicken and fry for 10 minutes then add the onions paste, tomato paste, salt, turmeric, amchur powder, cinnamon powder and water then cook chicken for 15 to 20 minutes on low flame,

Step 4

after 15 to 20 minutes of cooking add cream (malai), Kasuri Methi, black pepper and garam masala after few seconds add coriander leaves and turn off the stoveyour favorite Butter chicken is ready to serve with Naan, roti, pulka, chapathi etc..
