Andhra Sweet Panasa Tonalu (పనస తొనలు వండుట)
panasa tonalu is a Andhra Sweet Snack item, they looks like Jack fruit that’s way the name it as panasa tonalu,
- Maida – ¼ Kg
- Butter – 2 Tb Spoons
- Jaggery – 200 Grams
- Green Cardamom Powder – 2 T Spoons
- Oil for deep Fry
- Ghee – 1 T Spoon
- Salt – ½ T Spoon
- Water – for making a dough
Take a Bowl add Maida, Butter, Salt, Green Cardamom powder and mix well by adding water little by little and make dough Add oil to the dough and mix well and make a soft dough knead well keep a side for 30 minutes
Make a lemon size balls from the dough (which we usually make for chapathis) Make the Chapathy shape of Panasa thonalu (this I cannot explain in words you shall watch our video below for how to make the Panasa thonalu shapes which was shown in the title picture) After making the Panasa Thona shapes by hand
Turn on the gas and place the deep kadai add oil and heat for deep fry Now add the Panasa thonalu to the oil and fry until colour changes to golden.
-------- Making the sugar syrup -------- Place the non-stick kadai on the stove and heat Add ½ Cup water, grated Jaggery, make a syrup add cardamom powder, ghee and make a single thread consistency.
Now drop the Panasa thonalu to the syrup and keep it there for 1 Minute and take out and cool for 5 to 10 minutes Your favourite and traditional Panasa thonalu is ready to serve and these can be stored up to 1 month
