Aloo Tikki Recipe
Tasty and Easy way of cooking of potato tikki or aloo tikki is a evening snack,try this recipe,Aloo tikki is a North Indian and Pakistani snack made of boiled potatoes, onions and various spices.”Aloo” means potato, and the word “tikki” means a small cutlet or croquette.
It is found in almost every chaat shop or stall in Delhi as well as in other parts of India.It is served hot along with tomato sauce, tamarind and coriander-mint sauce, and sometimes yogurt or chick peas.
- Potatoes (Aloo) – 3 Nos (Big Size)
- Dry Bread Crumbs – 4 + 4 (table spoons) 4 for Batter & 4 for dipping purpose
- Corn Flour – 1 ½ Tb Spoons
- Ginger – 1” Size (finely grated)
- Coriander leaves – 3 Bunches
- Garam Masala Powder – 1 T Spoon
- Green Chillies – 3 Nos (to be finely chopped)
- Red Chilli Powder – 1 T Spoon Lemon Juice – ½ T Spoon Salt – tasty Oil – for frying 6 Nos Aloo Tikki Green Piece – ½ Cup Red Chilli Powder – 1 T Spoon Lemon Juice – ½ T Spoon Salt – tasty Oil – for frying 6 Nos Aloo Tikki Green Piece – ½ Cup
Boil the potatoes until soft (usually 4 whistles in cooker for soft) then mash the potatoes like fine batter. Cook the green piece until soft and keep aside for cooling purpose.
Take bowl with mashed potatoes, add green piece, cork flour, bread crumbs, chopped ginger, chopped coriander leaves, garam masala powder, chopped green chillies, red chilli powder, salt, lemon juice and make a fine batter (tight) keep aside for 2 to 3 minutes.
After 5 minutes make a round balls by taking a small part of batter, and keep in a plate now large surfaced plate and spread the bread crumbs and take one batter ball and press or dip against the bread crumb powder and make around shape or rectangular shape patties.
Turn on the stove place the non-stick pan and sprinkle oil place the bread crumb dipped patties and fry until the patties are changed to brown colour and become crispy. Do the same for the remaining patties also. That is it your favourite and famous Indian snack is ready at your home to serve.
